有一個作穡人,在園裡在作穡的時,
𢙠妻來叫伊回去食飯.
彼個作穡人就大聲喝:
"且等咧嗬,此候偷藏鋤頭,即要來去嗬."

返去厝,棒𢙠妻即與伊講:
"偷藏鋤頭算是機密的事嗎,
 汝是怎樣彼呢大聲喝呢?
 若是被人知的時候,
 續能偷夯去咯."

食飽,即去看園裡,今哮痛咯,
鋤頭是已經無去了.
伊就趕緊更再返去厝裡,
嘴倚𢙠妻的耳邊,細細仔聲講:
"鋤頭已經被夯去了."

[A secret]IDX

There was a farmer.  When (he was) doing the farming in the garden,
his wife came to call him back for eating.
The farmer then replied aloud:
"Just wait (a while).
 Right now I am hiding the hoe.  (Later) I will go."

After arriving home, his wife then said to him:
"It is a secret to hide the hoe.
 Why did you say it in such a high voice?
 If it is overheard by other people,
 (they) will steal and take the hoe away."

After eating, he went back to look (after) the garden.  Now dear my God.
The hoe was already gone.
He then hurried home again.
With the mouth near his wife's ear, (he) said in a very low voice:
"The hoe has already been taken by someone else."
